The HP Smart Tank 7005 is not specifically designed for printing on transparencies. The supported paper sizes mainly include standard papers such as A4, and there is no indication that transparencies are supported as a print medium. If you want to print on transparencies, you should contact the manufacturer or consider alternative printer models that are specifically designed for such applications.
For iOS, no separate driver installation is required for the printer as it supports AirPrint. You can print directly via AirPrint from your iPhone or iPad without installing additional drivers. You can also download the HP Smart App from the App Store, which makes it easier to set up and print.
The ink tanks come already filled with the printer, including bottles of genuine HP ink, so you can print for up to three years without buying any extra ink. So you don't need to order ink tanks separately when you buy your printer.
Dear Roland, the paper feed is also a weak point on my HP 7005. Not only when duplex printing does it feed more than one page. I have noticed that the problem occurs less often when the paper tray is well filled. U. G.
Sold the printer, can't test it myself: but the paper cassette should be adjustable to 74mm width. 105mm length is no problem anyway
But I have to admit that I'm not sure how easy it is to set custom paper sizes with the printer driver. I would keep my hands off the printer, I have never been able to get to grips with its operation.
Yes, mobile printing on the HP Smart Tank 7005 also works with Android devices. The printer supports Wi-Fi and mobile printing, including the use of the HP Smart App, which is available for both Android and iOS.
It works well with the HP app, with Windows and Mac, does the Mac possibly lose the IP address of the printer? Then manually enter the IP in the Mac and it should work. Good luck!jpa
The ink bottles of the HP Smart Tank 7005 are already filled on delivery. The scope of delivery includes original HP ink bottles, with which you can print up to 12,000 black pages or 8,000 colour pages without having to buy additional ink bottles.
Had to replace the colour print head after only 300 pages, which puts the ink costs into perspective. I sold the printer because the connection via WLAN was never stable. Can only advise against the printer.
I use it on a Mac with OS 10.13
So the HP application is not compatible either (from 10.15 I think). It does not prevent the use of the printer connected to USB (the simplest) or Wifi.
The application can be downloaded to an Ipad or Iphone if necessary.
You can nevertheless check that the reference is available on the list of printers on your OS 10.11 by going to "add a new printer" (remember to make the latest updates before)
Hello Galaxus/Digitec, I bought the HP Smart Tank 7005 printer from you and am very satisfied so far. If you have a direct contact to HP, please inform them that there are still some network bugs in the current firmware (which are also causing trouble in online forums):
1) If you switch off Bluetooth the system usually freezes and loses WiFi setup. You currently have to leave Bluetooth switched on.
2) If you connect the WiFi by pressing the WPS button, it often loses the WiFi setup and connection after restarting the printer. Instead, you have to set up the WiFi manually or via the HP app by entering the WiFi key so that it remains saved.
3) The scanner's optical sensor bar flashes every second even in sleep mode with the lid closed. This is probably a readiness mode, but it's pretty unnecessary and stupid. This is also known from some other HP printers/scanners.
These bugs could be fixed with a firmware update. Otherwise a really great printer with large ink tanks, paper cassette, duplex etc.
Thanks and regards, S.
To make double-sided photocopies with this printer, follow these steps:
1. Open the top cover of the printer and place the page you want to copy face down.
2. Select the copy function and choose whether you want a colour or black and white copy.
3. To make a double-sided copy, you may need to remove the printed page and place it back in the paper tray to print the other side. However, some HP Smart Tank printers have automatic duplex printing, but this may require specific configuration via the HP Smart application or printer settings.
If you need further help, I suggest you consult the printer manual or contact HP technical support.
Hello. I am looking for a new compact printer. As the choice is very large, I would like to use your recommendation. It would be important to me that the printer has a paper tray, both b/w and colour printing, automatic duplex printing and a scanner and that it can print via WLAN. I have now come across the HP Smart Tank models. It is said that the ink should be cheaper with these. Is this true? Which model would you recommend? It would also be important to me that the Wi-Fi access works equally well via Apple and Android.
Thank you very much for your support and best regards,
Thomas K.
