The decision is very likely due to supply and demand.... In addition, Digitec has a good monopoly here in Switzerland, so they can actually do what they want with the price (Mr & Mrs Swiss buy it anyway). But the smart ones among us simply order on the German Google Store page. The prerequisite is, of course, an address in DE...
Technically yes but you have to see that the pandemic hit harder than thought and due being bought from germany it takes a little more. The time they gave us was just an ETA.
Strange that there are never any comments or "questions" when, conversely, a price - without any offer at all - drops by 7%, which could be observed at least as often (if one wanted to).
Due to different purchasing conditions and changing suppliers over a certain period of time, price changes/fluctuations may occur. We generally work with daily prices.

Just ordered from the German Google Store, delivery next week, end of story. Order here is cancelled. I am - for the first time - slightly disappointed with Digitec, even if the statements about difficult procurement are basically believable. Things must have gone wrong here.

Same comment for me! I was going to get it the same week but decided to wait the Friday because of Black Friday. Price went up to 747- and we must wait February. Such a pity...

As you could see, the device was (as expected) not on sale. The price increase is most likely due to the scarce availability of the device worldwide.
I don't think the deliveries have failed, however, the deliveries are constantly sold out again and therefore the delivery date is pushed further and further back. Fortunately, I still got a unit from the first delivery and it was delivered at the beginning of November.
The delivery date is always on the homepage, without guarantee, and now it is available at Galaxus CH. I hope I was able to help you.

We are in the process of sourcing all the original accessories for the Pixel, but as we have to import them ourselves, like the phones, we cannot say when we will be able to offer them. However, we are in contact with our supplier about this and will put the products online as soon as we have access to them. Unfortunately, we cannot say when that will be.

Ok, I just received the email with the explanation. My rant is now history, as is my Pixel 5 order with you ;-) It's a real shame that it didn't work out this time with the Pixel via Digitec. But that's the way it goes when Google doesn't want to sell itself in the Swiss market... Let's see if 5G will ever be activated on the Pixel 5 in Switzerland... See you next time @digitec!

The same goes for the status of "In stock at supplier, approx. day after tomorrow" since Thursday. On Monday, it closes (lockdown) and no news from you. The phone line is closed as well. Could we have some news please? Did the order arrive at the branch or not? Can we pick it up? How do we do it?
You answer your own question, don't you? I received the following e-mail today: We are contacting you because you pre-ordered a Google Pixel mobile phone from us. The anticipated delivery date of 30.11.2020 can in all likelihood unfortunately not be met. The affected models (Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 5G) can only be produced in small quantities due to the Corona situation, although these products are in high demand. Which means that sourcing in the global market is currently a big challenge. We are moving forward in small steps and delivering the orders one by one. However, further delays are possible. Currently, we expect the Google Pixel 4a 5G and 4a to be available by the end of December 2020 at the earliest. And the Google Pixel 5 5G is not expected to ship until the end of January 2021.
After contacting support, they confirmed that the only difference between the two versions is the colour. The specifications are both correct, as the main camera has 12.2 MP and the wide-angle 16 MP.... But why they didn't put the same MP spec in the description for both variants, I also find misleading.... I hope this helps. LG
