Yes, this now works without any problems via the Garmin Connect app. Send the GPX to the app, save the route and send it to the device. Alternatively, there are Komoot and Trailforks apps for the Edge in which saved routes can be called up directly on the Edge if the Edge is connected to the smartphone.

You can plan routes on the device. It's not exactly a blessing in terms of operation. But it's simple point-to-point without any big wishes on the road. That works quite well. All GPX files can be loaded onto the device. Even without Basecamp. I always plan routes in Basecamp or Trailforks and then load them as GPX on the device or call them up via the integrated Trailforks app.

Hello, yes is completely sufficient and the map materials are also sufficient, plan my tours with Komoot and sync afterwards, everything simple and very reliable if because Garmin has no successful security attack. Was last weekend 6 hours in the mountains on and offroad on the road and it has in between really let down and fog like stupid and no problems, everything tight! I can warmly recommend it!
