Question about Garmin Edge 830

Up to now, I have planned my routes on Komoot and navigated using my smartphone. Now I'm thinking about getting a Garmin and I'm wondering the following. Does it matter which map material is on the Garmin? In other words, is the route transferred to the Garmin map material or does the Komoot map come with it? Thanks for any input!

Helpful answer

Only the route is transferred and then displayed on the Garmin. I also use Komoot for planning. Works very well for road and MTB.

Yes, only the GPX data is transferred. Have fun !
