I own the new Macbook Pro M1, which runs without problems. The Air should actually work there too.
The USB C connection of the monitor simply has to be plugged directly into the Mac, it doesn't work (for me) via a hub etc.

When you have Swiss Editions, the difference is often in the warranty. The manufacturer, here, grants an exceptional 5-year warranty, unique in the industry, on all Swiss Edition monitors, with a free on-site exchange service.
