Hello, I have been using this scanner for a long time. Scan directly to my NAS (Synology), there the document is processed with OCR and stored. I don't know of any setting that would allow it to send directly to Google Drive. The ScanSnap-1500 would be better suited for this. Greetings.

So the pdf's I create with the scanner are automatically OCR scanned - meaning I can search for text in the documents. I am running on macOS. The scanning software is clearly designed and allows me to save so-called workflows. This makes it very efficient. I would estimate that the 100 pages are completely processed in 5-10 minutes, including OCR.

It can scan to the cloud or local network. The software delivered is standard type for scanning not a special archive software. Documents scan fast and efficient. For an alphabetical search programs like Acrobat are needed, not the reader, the full version or an other cheaper program.

Hello fish scale You can't do that with this document scanner with paper feed-through! And yes it is harmful to the machine. (A) it causes paper jams as the machine will try to separate the two papers, and (B) the metal staple scratches the glass of the CIS unit and the "pressure plate" on the CIS glass. The only solution is to separate the papers before scanning or to use another device with a flatbed scanner, e.g. PDS-5000F, PDS-6000F (or MFC or DCP printer as described by you). Greetings

If I am not mistaken, the scanner itself cannot OCR. Probably no one in this price range can do that either. But you can certainly set up a button that sends the scan to a running PC and starts a job there that carries out the OCR recognition and sends it to a corresponding memory.
