Often when transferring from VHS to another medium (e.g. stand-alone DVD recorder) the picture becomes black and white because of a "copy protection". Can this grabber also digitise purchased VHS tapes (with copy protection signals) without errors (i.e. in colour)?

My VHS player has two Scart, one SVHS and three Cinch connections (red, white and yellow). I also have the InLine S-VHS/Scart adapter. I want to digitise S-VHS and VHS videos with the Auvisio Stand-Alone Video Grabber. How do I connect the parts to get the best result? My attempts so far have been extremely poor: only black and white or no sound.

I think the best connection is with the cinch. The cable that came with it was defective. The recording was also totally bad. You have to buy a new cable. I would also check the cable supplied. The effort of sending the cable back was too stupid for me.

How can I transfer old VHS tapes to DVD?

This device is connected to an analogue video source (e.g. a VHS player) and while playing the medium, the content is digitally written to a memory card. Afterwards, one could burn a DVD with the contents of this memory card on the computer.
