Sorry, only saw your question now, I had ordered the wrong headset, looked at the white one (xbox) then saw it was also available in black.

I answer my own question after searching the specs: yes.
not at all astro a40 is cable headseat then you have to buy astro a50 or if on sale at dicitec the brand new version of a40 that has wireless function
but it is not available everywhere

I own the Astro A40 Tr + Mixamp, A50 and the Steelseries Pro + Gamedac and in my opinion the Steelseries is the best headset of the three.

Hi, I know there are two models, the headset itself is compatible, but I think there is an xbox specific mixamp (I have the pc mixamp and no xbox to test, sorry)
According to the specifications, it is also compatible with the Xbox One.
A normal 3.5 cable is sufficient. I connected it to my smartphone yesterday...
I personally find music very good with the A40. Good bass, very balanced and above all you can wear the headset for a long time because it is very comfortable.

Yes, this is no problem via the SPDIF Out.
In Windows under sound you should select Astro MixAmp pro Voice as default communication device and the SPDIF Out as default audio.

The MixAmp is already included in the scope of delivery and you can use it to adjust the volume, make 3 or 4 different settings, etc. Settings etc.

That is possible. I would check if the Home Cinema has an Audio Return Channel, then it can extract the audio from all sources and output directly via the Toslink.
I have this on the TV and the consoles connected to it via HDMI. The headset is connected directly to the TOSLINK of the TV.
yes the A40 works with the PS4. Best headset I've had so far :)
A50 = Wireless, A40 = Wired. Basically identical models. A50 has only a few minor improvements, e.g. bracket.
As far as I know, the a40 tr does not contain a battery. The a50 contains a battery.
So unfortunately we can't get the whole earpiece, just the earpads themselves: Astro Mod Kit for A40 TR - COD WW2
