Can the system also be used for home cinema (connection via Toslink to Dolby Surround amplifier)?

That is possible. I would check if the Home Cinema has an Audio Return Channel, then it can extract the audio from all sources and output directly via the Toslink.
I have this on the TV and the consoles connected to it via HDMI. The headset is connected directly to the TOSLINK of the TV.
