Cat6 cables are designed for operating frequencies of up to 250 MHz and are used for signal transmission with high data transfer rates of up to 1 Gbps. Due to the high signal frequencies, special care is required during installation and assembly, particularly at the connection points of the wires. The individual wire pairs in Cat6 are twisted at different tightness levels, further reducing susceptibility to interference compared to Cat5e. Applications for Cat6 cables include voice and data transmission as well as multimedia and ATM networks. Even more powerful are cables conforming to Cat6e (500 MHz) and Cat6a (625 MHz).

A significant advantage of Slimpatch cables is the simplified cabling of racks and 48-port switches. The extremely thin design and high flexibility help avoid cable clutter, maintaining clarity. A Wirewin Cat6 Slimpatch cable is about six times thinner than a conventional patch cable and features a flexible and wide connector protection as well as length markings on both ends. This helps bring order to your distribution cabinets.

The Slimpatch cables are also excellent for installation under PVC floors, carpets, and laminate or parquet flooring. They are the optimal solution for connecting IP phones to your network. Thanks to their short connector and flexibility, these cables are ideally suited for this application. Despite their extremely thin design, Power over Ethernet supply for IP phones is also possible through these cables. The AWG (American Wire Gauge) system is based on the manufacturing process of wires and describes the conductor thickness of copper wire. AWG36 corresponds to a conductor cross-section of 0.0127 mm².
