Product details

The ASA-S filament from the French manufacturer Kimya is an acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate that closely resembles ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer) but offers improved properties in terms of UV resistance and weather sensitivity. Therefore, the material is particularly well-suited for outdoor use. Like ABS, ASA is also highly durable and impact-resistant. The filament is compatible with most common desktop 3D printers. To prevent warping or layer splitting, it is advisable to set the model fan or cooling to less than 30% or to turn it off completely. Additionally, drafts should be minimized, for example, by using a cover. Kimya ASA-S is ideal for 3D printing objects intended for outdoor use or exhibitions. Private users often utilize this filament for applications in the garden, such as wind gauges or flow meters, or for flower pots. Industrial users also employ ASA, for instance, in prototype development within the automotive industry, where components like bumpers and dashboards are made from this plastic.
