Kimya Filament

The ABS Kevlar filament from the French manufacturer Kimya is a 3D printing material that exhibits excellent mechanical properties. It is a modified ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene Copolymer) with Kevlar fibers for increased impact resistance and aramid fibers for improved printing characteristics. ABS is a plastic polymer that results from the polymerization of styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of polybutadiene. The use of aramid fibers in ABS Kevlar significantly reduces the phenomenon of warping. Furthermore, 3D-printed parts are lighter and more impact-resistant than conventional ABS or even carbon fiber-reinforced ABS. It is important to note that Kevlar is significantly more susceptible to UV rays than, for example, carbon fibers.
