The density and strength can be individually adjusted through print temperature and extrusion factor. With a maximum foaming ratio of 200%, it significantly reduces weight without compromising stability. Despite its high flexibility, TPU-LW remains tear-resistant and elastic, allowing printed objects to return to their original shape after deformation. Quick guide for printing with TPU-LW:
Disable retraction: Turn off retraction movements in the slicer, as the TPU continues to foam in the hotend. Stringing is normal – vase mode can help.
Adjust first layer: Set speed to 100% and disable slowdown for small areas. Adjust extrusion rate (e.g., 58% at 260°C).
Optimize adhesion: If the part adheres too strongly to the print bed, reduce the bottom layer extrusion value.
Observe maximum print temperature: Do not operate PTFE tubes above 250°C – use a metal hotend for higher temperatures.
Avoid discoloration: Excessive temperatures can cause yellowing or nozzle clogging – reduce temperature if necessary.
Ensure constant temperature: Perform PID tuning and disable speed reductions to ensure stable foaming.
Fine-tune extrusion: Higher temperature → stronger foaming → less extrusion required. Higher print speed → less foaming → more extrusion required.
