In addition to efficiency and user comfort, reducing ink waste to protect the environment is a key focus. These core aspects are combined in Canon's Single-Ink technology, which also delivers high-quality performance.

Therefore, each ink color has its own transparent and separately replaceable tank, as well as an integrated LED that alerts the user to low ink levels with a slow blink and to an empty tank with a fast blink. This way, even during photo printing without a PC, users are always informed about the current ink status. Another advantage is that the LED is also activated if a new ink tank is not installed correctly. When printing in conjunction with a PC, a warning message automatically appears as soon as an ink color is running low or when the tank is empty.
