After using this motherboard as my main PC for more than a month, I have found (like others) that the Gigabyte software is not reliable (See: target="_blank">digitec.ch/de/s1/ProductRat...
Fan Controller windows software (SIV, SmartFan, etc) causes the CPU and System fans to stop spinning when you step away from the PC for a while.
Causes the CPU to overheat and forces a shutdown.
Fans also intermittently stop/start even at full load.
Software does not seem to respond to CPU temperature to activate the cooler fans again.
I have purchased numerous Gigabyte motherboards in the past with no such issues.
I uninstalled all the Gigabyte software (particularly SIV) and the system seems to be performing better.
I have a 2nd similar build with the ASUS Strix B550i Gaming and have not experienced this issue. So I'm assuming the issue is the Gigabyte management software.
I will monitor the fans through the BIOS and see if this solution makes a difference.
I'll post a new update once tested.
If anyone else has this issue, please reach out.
