The power supply via the USB-C port from the laptop is sufficient.
I couldn't connect the projector via HDMI, which makes the thing pretty useless. Thought it was a defect.

Your phone must be USB-enabled. Sometimes you have to activate it. Google it...
i used it with a dell and only used the hdmi for a screen. so it doesn't get hot! but if you use a mac and use the charging function of the usb-c plug, then it could get warm!!!

Sali Tobi, unfortunately the connection cable is only about 15 cm long. Note that it is a micro-USB connector, not a normal USB. Greetings Peter
I don't know, it was the same for me. There is still a plug for a power supply unit, but one was/is not included. I returned the port and received a credit note.
