I would like to ask a simple question (and it is my first one here in Digitec). What is the purpose/ benefit of this power device? It is far from being clear in the description (which is not short, but is useful to those, who know what they are seeking). There are lots of practical and innovative electronic gadgets available, but without any practical demonstration, some people less familiar with electronic accessories and gadgets like me have difficulties understanding the purpose. Is it an extension socket/ cable that can be switched on/off remotely? Isn't 1,5m cable too short? (Sorry, I don't understand German and French in a limited way). Thanks.

You're spot on.
The cube provides 4 outlets and it can be switched on/off with the orange remote. The remotes can be paired with several cubes at the same time - I use them to switch off devices on stand-by in several rooms at once. I have two cubes and just ordered two more. 

The lenght of the cord allows it to be placed in the vicinity of the outlet, but as you mentioned, it doesn't really work as an extention for crossing rooms.
