Question about Sony Alpha 7RV

I keep reading that the image noise becomes unusable quite quickly from around ISO 800. ISO 800 is not exactly exhilarating for today's cameras. Does anyone here have experience of whether the camera really has such severe problems with this? I have an R M3 and am thinking of changing to the R M5. But with poor noise behaviour, the camera would be worthless for me.

This is bullshit.

I also used to have the A7R III and currently the A7R V and I don't find the noise behaviour as bad as many people claim. I have three RAW files on WeTransfer. One with ISO 800, one with ISO 1000 and one with ISO 3200, so you can get an idea of the noise behaviour yourself (the newer files in RAW medium, I shoot almost exclusively in compressed format). https://we.tl/t-SfZuIhjr...

Hi clauswalte,

when photographing with high ISO sensitivity, the product reduces noise, which becomes more visible when the product is highly sensitive.

MENU → (Shooting) → [Picture Quality/Record] → [High ISO-RM] → desired setting.

Normal:
Enables normal noise reduction at high ISO.

Low:
Activates moderate noise reduction at high ISO.

Off:
Noise reduction at high ISO sensitivity is not activated.

In the following shooting modes, [High ISO RM] is fixed to [Normal]:
[Intellig. Auto].
