Hello, I have been asking myself this question for years. And I usually get a new printer because of the costs and because I don't print out so much in colour. I'm testing a Ricoh Geljet that prints with inkjet and a set of cartridges (according to the manufacturer for 2200 pages each) costs around 140 CHF. It's not a bad printer at all (it's a multifunctional device), but it looks a bit sharper with a laser, depending on what you want to print. It's a matter of choice whether to buy expensive laser toner or to do the forced ecological nonsense and get a new printer. Hope I could help a little
