Hello, is the zoom manually controllable via one of the rings on the tele or only via the switch at the top of the shutter release? If not, what are the rings on the tele for and are they (relatively) freely programmable with other functions?

Hello, the ring at the very front of the tele is the focus ring for manual focusing. The second, slightly wider ring is the zoom ring. This has the same function as the zoom lever at the top of the shutter release. Zooming with the ring on the lens is a little slower than with an SLR camera. I find the zoom lever more practical and use it most of the time. You can set the speed of the zoom to standard or fast, and with the ring you can also set steps.

You can swap the function of these two rings, i.e. zoom is at the front and the second ring is focus. You can also reverse the direction of rotation of both rings. That is all that can be programmed for these two rings.

Close to the housing is the aperture ring, which is needed to set a certain aperture value with aperture preselection A. The aperture ring is also used to set the aperture.
