Good day. Are there still isolated experiences with the notoriously annoying grinding noises when turning the focus ring or have these finally been eliminated in later production? According to the new top reviews, probably not. Thank you for your input.
Nothing grinds on me, everything is tiptop
Now that I have bought the camera (black), I can answer my own question and say that the focus ring makes very slight grinding noises when turning. As if there were 2 or 3 grains of sand between the lens and the focus ring. According to Fuji's own research, this is due to the new construction for more weather resistance (!?). Now that I have noticed this myself, however, I have to say that it is very very quiet and that you have to keep your ear right up against the focus ring to hear anything at all. It's more the "grinding feeling" when turning that bothers me, as if the focus ring is wearing out. But I need the focus ring very rarely (especially for manual focusing), and I am still very satisfied with the camera.
I can't make out any grinding noise. The ring is a little awkward to use in general because of the flat lens.
