The drone weighs 795g and therefore falls into the category A1 <900g. This means that registration as a pilot, as well as online training and testing, is mandatory. But note that at the moment the old laws still apply, as the resources are still missing for the new law to come into force.
Drone testing is a very good thing in my eyes (if it is not meant to rip you off, I will definitely not want to pay for every flight).
Drones are classified by weight, unless you have high-resolution cameras, in which case an inspection is still required.
These things are now affordable for practically everyone, so it's scary sometimes what these hobby pilots try to do with them. Testing is OK, and insurance (mandatory in my opinion) ! Or would you like to pay for the rest of your life if something goes wrong?
