Does the HX99 have GPS? If not, which compact cameras have it?
Unfortunately not, apparently needs too much power or makes the device too expensive.
The camera is great for people who want a lot of zoom and don't know how to use smartphones.
I bought the camera for my 80-year-old mum.
For younger people, the use of smartphones makes more sense. Thanks to AI, the images are optimised directly and can be edited further on the device.
Today's digital cameras, even the professional ones, are technically outdated and will die out. They simply can't do anything: taking panoramic pictures is still the highest of feelings, or recognising faces, albeit far too slowly. The devices are technically dead and can only score points through superiority thanks to lenses and higher optical resolution.
Hi uelimorf,
No, the camera does not have GPS. You can use the Imaging Edge mobile application to retrieve location information from a smartphone that is connected to your camera via Bluetooth communication. You can record the retrieved location information when taking pictures. You can also send the day and date or region settings from your smartphone so that they are automatically corrected. You can find more information on our website.

No.
The Hx99 does not have its own GPS, but it picks it up very reliably from the mobile via Bluetooth.
