Did I really read that correctly? The R5 can only take 320 photos on one battery charge. That can't be right, can it? I would be interested to know who has already bought these if this is true.
This is measured with standardised tests according to CIPA. The data are absolutely unrealistic because, among other things, it is assumed that each picture is viewed again on the monitor and the camera is not turned off between shots. In daily use, a realistic size is about twice the stated size. So 320 photos correspond to about 600-700 photos in normal use. By the way, this applies to all camera batteries.
It's not even available yet. So how could anyone have bought it already? The camera has only just been introduced. And yes, Canon obviously doesn't do it any better. It always depends on how you shoot. When shooting sports in continuous mode, the battery will last much longer. DSLMs generally need more power than DSLRs. That's not a new insight.
Took 600 pictures of kingfishers today and used maybe 1/4 of the battery capacity ...
I rented the camera for an American football weekend and was able to shoot a game with around 2000 pictures on one battery charge.

Absolute nonsense. Yesterday I was able to take over 5,000 pictures in a row without changing the battery once. The thing is absolutely amazing.
