Question about Sony Alpha 7 II

Can anyone help me regarding understanding AF and tracking autofocus for filming with this kit? This does not seem to work with this lens? ... Have read through a lot of info, but still in the dark. Does it need an adapter, or another G Master lens, or is it the setting? According to the description, this should also work with this (older) model... Thank you very much!

You might find something on the fototrainer.com YouTube channel. Have you already looked there?

It is hardly the fault of the lens. If the tracking AF doesn't work, then it's the camera. I used to have the A7II, but since I don't shoot, I can't say more. AF on Sony cameras has made huge advances in the last six years and it's entirely possible that it doesn't work on this old camera from late 2014.
When I was taking photos, the AF-C with tracking worked. I'm sure there are differences in lenses too. Some have a fast AF motor and some don't. The 28-70 kit is actually not known for bad AF. Unfortunately I don't know it from my own experience. Maybe someone else who films with this camera can say something about it.
However, an "adapter" is certainly not necessary.
