Can an E-ATX mainboard be installed in this enclosure? Or does "only" a normal ATX mainboard fit?

Unfortunately, it only fits ATX. But if you want to install 3.5" HDDs, make sure that your motherboard is not too thick in the lower right quarter (in "desktop orientation") (i.e. no large RGB "heat sinks" or anything like that) because the HDDs hang over the board.
