Question about HP M479dw Color LaserJet Pro

According to the description, the printer should be compatible up to win7. So far, I have only been able to install the printer with a laptop that has just survived a win10 (32bit) upgrade. Does anyone have a tip on how I can successfully install the printer with win8.1 - nothing worked at all with the printer-specific "full pack software" or the universal driver. Thanks to the pros in advance !!!
