The LMP Mini-DP & Toslink 5.1 Audio to HDMI adapter with Optical Audio transmits audio and video signals from your Mac with mini DisplayPort to an HD-TV or home cinema setup with HDMI. Audio is picked up from the optical line-out of the computer and passes the digital signal to the TV set without any loss or modification.
No software or drivers need to be installed on a Mac. Audio and video ports are recognized automatically and are configured using the familiar control panels in System Preferences.
When optical digital audio is connected, the Mac drives the internal speakers and the optical audio from a single port, automatically deactivating the internal speakers.

The first generation of the Apple M1 SoC is impressive in many ways. However, the chip quickly reaches its limits when connecting additional monitors. The LMP USB-C Dual Adapter offers the solution. The LMP Dual Adapter can be used with any Mac generation that has a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) port - whether Intel or M1, including M1 Pro and M1 Max. A maximum of 2 LMP Dual Adapters or 4 additional monitors (2 HDMI and 2 VGA) can be operated via USB-C or even USB-A ports. The LMP Dual Adapter can even be installed on the USB-C or USB-A outputs of a USB-C dock. This is made possible by the Silicon Motion video chipset and its drivers, as well as the fact that the video signal is transmitted via the USB protocol rather than the DP Altmode signal. Resolutions go up to 4K@30 Hz (HDMI) and Full HD (1920×1080@60 Hz) for the VGA output.
This means that the user can add no less than 4 additional monitors to the number that Apple specifies as the maximum number of external monitors. Thus, a first-generation M1 device can utilize one monitor via DP Altmode and an additional 4 by adding 2 LMP Dual Adapters, provided there are enough free USB-C or USB-A ports to connect the 2 LMP Dual Adapters. A whopping 8 external monitors can be used with the latest MacBook Pro M1 Max, with each displaying an independent image (Extended Mode). The same applies to any Mac with Intel processors and Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports.
Example:
MacBook Air M1
Number of external monitors specified by Apple (via DP Altmode, e.g., via HDMI of an LMP USB-C mini dock): 1 monitor
+ 1 LMP Dual Adapter (with drivers, via USB protocol) with 1 VGA (1080p) + 1 HDMI (4K@30 Hz) monitor: 2 monitors
Highlights:
- Up to 2 additional monitors for Apple M1 devices
- Compatible with all Mac M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max as well as Mac...

USB-C (via the USB 3.1 bus) to VGA for connecting external monitors, projectors, TVs, etc. VGA transmits video signals and supports outputs up to 1920×1080 (1080p), with flexible support for USB 5G and DisplayPort 1.2 (DP Altmode). Supports VGA with a bandwidth of 2.7 Gbps (HBR) and 1.62 Gbps (RBR) per lane.

Delivers 3A maximum power to connected devices with a maximum transfer rate of 5 Gbit/s. Compatible with all Macs or PCs with USB-C ports. USB-C port is for Power Delivery only.
Important Note: Disconnecting the power supply (PD) from an external power source via the LMP USB-C Multiport Adapter may cause a sudden interruption of power to connected devices (e.g., an external USB hard drive). This may result in connected devices being unmounted or the connection being briefly interrupted (the connection will automatically restore after 2-3 seconds). This may lead to loss of unsaved data. Therefore, we strongly recommend saving all data and/or removing a connected device before unplugging the Power Delivery!
Note: Not compatible with Apple USB SuperDrive.

Important note: Disconnecting the power (PD) from an external power supply via the LMP USB-C Multiport Adapter may cause a sudden interruption of power to connected devices (e.g., an external USB hard drive). This may result in connected devices being unmounted or the connection being temporarily interrupted (the connection will automatically restore after 2-3 seconds). This can lead to loss of unsaved data. Therefore, we strongly recommend saving all data and/or removing a connected device before unplugging the Power Delivery.
