3D printer filament

3D filaments and resin are suitable printing materials for your 3D prints. Use the Print Material filter to find your preferred material. Well-known brands for 3D filaments are: Purefil, Ultimaker, Maerz, Basf and Verbatim. To give you a better overview, the different materials are explained here:

ABS: Lego bricks are made of ABS. The material is particularly hard and tough. It has a high sound resistance and withstands temperatures up to 100°C. Negative point: Tends to warp a component during manufacture.

ASA: The material is even harder than ABS. Impact resistant, scratch resistant and very high UV resistance.

bioTec: Manufactured from 100% renewable resources such as sugar beet and sugar cane. Advantages: No heating plate necessary. Does not fade. Heat resistance up to 110°C. Low shrinkage/warpage. Less flammable than ABS

HIPS: Tough even at temperatures down to -40°C. Heat deflection temperature only up to 80°C. Poor weathering and UV resistance and therefore not suitable for outdoor use. Very good electrical insulation properties. HIPS is odorless and tasteless.

Wood: Wood filaments are mostly a mixture with wood fibers. The printed objects feel like wood. When printed, it also smells like wood. The filament is a bit brittle (more than pure PLA), but still sturdy enough to be delivered on spools. Therefore, feed the filament carefully into your printer and be careful not to put tight radii or kinks in the filament.

MABS: Low warpage and shrinkage. High scratch resistance and hardness, and good sound dampening ability. High dimensional stability in heat and thermal shock resistance up to 100°C. High impact and notched impact strength even at low temperatures (down to -40°C).

PC (polycarbonate): High strength, temperature resistance from -150 to +135°C. Low shrinkage. PC is susceptible to stress cracking as well as notch sensitivity. The material burns but extinguishes after removal of the ignition source and is resistant to gasoline, greases, oils and aliphatic saturated hydrocarbons. PC is unresistant to strong acids and alkalis, aromatic and chlorinated
hydrocarbons and prolonged exposure to hot water.

PETG: In general, PET-G is characterized by clarity/, transparency as well as odorlessness and robustness.
PET-G is nevertheless very easy to print, there are no significant problem areas. Water resistant applications, illuminated lettering, parts for outdoor applications such as plant pots. Disadvantage: Draws moisture strongly. Pre-drying or vacuum packaging necessary.

PLA: Warpage and shrinkage are very low. Low water absorption. Biodegradable. Is soluble in many organic solvents. High UV resistance. Low flammability. Heat resistance up to approx. 60°C.

PVA: Dissolves excellently in cold W
