Delivery overnight ... top ... unfortunately the V2 cannot be activated

Due to a bug, the V2 can currently not be activated out of the box and even after m SW update only via DJI Fly App and with the FPV Drone ... big disappointment when you wait 6 months for the release and have changed everything at home from analogue to digital ... fix hopefully coming soon

    Yep, pretty disappointing... and hardly any info from DJI at the moment. The only bright spot is Joshua Bardwell, who is in contact with DJI according to statements.

    Had the same problem with activation. Saw the update video from Joshua Bardwell. He also promoted the above steps (as mentioned by Rhiol) and it just worked for me :-D

    Happy flying :-D

    I also came across this via the video. Almost everyone will probably have this problem.
    Promoting the comment by "Rhiol" is welcome. So that not everyone has to search hopelessly for solutions :)

    I have not seen the video. I installed the above software, then logged in with my existing login, connected the Goggles V2 to the computer via USB. The software automatically offered me the firmware update to V01.00.0606.
    I
    was then able to activate the whole system via mobile phone and also update the firmware on the remote control and the drone.
    But you are right. It's weak of DJI that you have to find this out yourself and that there is no FAQ on this...

    @slameczka
    Do you have a DJI FPV drone as well or just the goggles?
    Because if you have the drone too, this problem should not occur.

    @Made1nSuisse

    I bought the whole system DJI FPV Combo. On Android, the system was not recognised by the DJI Fly app and could not be activated. Only after updating the Goggles V2 via DJI Assistant 2 (FPV Series) was I
    then able to activate the whole system via Android and also provide it with the firmware updates.

    I don't know if it's different on the iPhone, but I struggled a lot with Android because there was no FAQ or answer in the forum.

    I never had these problems with my Mavic 2 :-)

    The Android app from the Google Play Store is not 1.3
    You have to download the APK directly from DJI

    @Victorious

    Yes, I know that; but even with the app from DJI directly, it only works after the firmware update of the goggles (see above). I have tried everything and believe me, I would have preferred to spend those hours
    searching and trying to fly.

    The hack I described and for which Joshua Bardwell made the video ONLY applies to the goggles as stand alone ... The problem does not occur with the DJI FPV Bundle.

    For me, the activation of the bundle did not work until I updated the goggle via DJI Assistant 2 to firmware V01.00.0606. As already written above, the APK from DJI directly did not work either. No matter how I
    tried and no matter which parts of the system were in operation. The system (goggle, remote control, drone) was not recognised.

    After updating the goggle, I connected the system to the mobile phone. After that, the activation and also the update of the remote control and the drone to the latest firmware worked.

    (I'm only talking about Android and Windows here; maybe it worked with Apple).

    Unfortunately I can't say anything about the combo, the glasses are activated normally via the DJI Desktop Assistant ... but the delivered glasses were stuck in FPV mode and it said you had to activate them via the DJI fly app together with the drone and the radio ... as you don't have the rest available as a buyer of glasses, you're in a bad position. Luckily you were able to solve your problem on your own with an update ... everyone else had useless 729,- expensive plastic glasses lying around.

    Thanks for the information. I should have read your first post better. I didn't assume that you only order the glasses without the rest.

    There are still the "real" pilots who only want to fly HD without auxiliary systems ;)

    I would like to, but I don't have the time. In a few years I will certainly do it too...

    In the meantime, has anyone found out whether it is still possible to activate a pair of glasses stuck in FPV mode without the DJI drone?
    The workaround with the temporary DJI account unfortunately doesn't work, as the option
    "Switch to DJI Digital FPV System" is not available ... Too bad about this great product

    @foxtrottsierra did you follow Rhiol's instructions 1:1? It works. I had the same mistake

    Briefly. Firmware downgrade. Change, activate. Firmware upgrade

    Yes, I followed the instructions exactly and tried several times. Even reinstalling the DJI Assistant 2 (FPV Series) did nothing.

    Problems:
    1. the firmware available in the temporary DJI_aftersales account is V00.05.1806
    for me (instead of .1086).
    2. the option to change the firmware does not appear in step 4 in the Goggles Settings - About.

    In my case, I think the only solution is to activate it using a DJI FPV drone ...

    @foxtrottsierra on Mac or Windows? It didn't work for me on the Mac either ... had to use my desktop PC because of that.
    I tried again with the aftersales profile to straighten the glasses down but with the installed V:
    01.00.0606 it is no longer possible ... I don't know any other solution so far ... only remains to find someone with the FPV Drone or exchange a new one at Digitec.

    @Rhiol Thank you for your advice. I have also tried on the PC.
    I have now contacted DJI support, maybe they have another idea. I will report back.
