Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT 75/15

The Smartsolar 75/15 is an MPPT solar charge controller designed for charging batteries. Unlike the Bluesolar 75/15, the Smart version features integrated Bluetooth, eliminating the need for a Bluetooth dongle. Additionally, a VE.Direct port is available for communication with other Victron devices such as the Color Control GX or the MPPT Control. The integrated Bluetooth in the SmartSolar series provides a wireless solution for setting up, monitoring, and updating the controller using Apple and Android smartphones, tablets, or other devices. Deep discharge of the battery can be prevented by connecting all loads (up to 15A) to the load output. The load output disconnects the loads when the battery is discharged to a predetermined voltage level. Alternatively, an intelligent battery management algorithm can be selected. The load output is short-circuit proof. If the solar charge controller is unable to charge the battery to its full capacity within a day, the battery status will constantly switch between "partially charged" and "end of discharge." This operating mode (no regular full charging) repeatedly damages a lead-acid battery. The Battery-Life algorithm monitors the battery's state of charge and raises the threshold for disconnecting the load day by day as needed until the energy harvested is sufficient to charge the battery to nearly 100%. From this point, the threshold for disconnecting the load is modulated so that charging to nearly 100% is achieved approximately once a week.
