HDTV is the standard for digital video transmission in the TV and multimedia sector, for example, for connecting a TV with an HDMI interface to a playback device with a Mini DisplayPort connection. This cable features a Mini DisplayPort and an HDTV connector. DisplayPort is signal-compatible with HDMI.

Note: A DisplayPort-HDTV cable can only be used in one direction: the Mini DisplayPort connector can only be used on the data source side, such as with graphics cards, MacBooks, ultrabooks, laptops, or PCs.
