DisplayPort is a universal connection standard for transmitting video and audio signals. Its main applications are connecting monitors and televisions to computers, Blu-ray players, and similar devices. The connection takes up less space and is therefore better suited for portable display devices like ultrabooks and laptops, or for two connections on a graphics card. The practical plug design prevents the cable from being pulled out of the DisplayPort socket.
