Tinkerforge Silent Stepper Brick
MicrocontrollerProduct details
Controls a bipolar stepper motor via USB (max. 46V; 1.6A per phase). Silent operation of stepper motors. Position, speed, and acceleration are controllable. Stepper motor resolution from full step up to 1/256 step. Expandable via two Bricklet connectors.
The Silent Stepper Brick can control a bipolar stepper motor with a maximum phase current of 1.6A and a maximum voltage of 46V via USB. The API of the Brick is available for different programming languages and can control the direction, speed, and acceleration of the connected stepper motor. The step size can be selected between full step and 1/256 step mode.
Two connectors can be used to connect Bricklets, which extend the Brick's capabilities. The Silent Stepper Brick can be used with other Bricks in a stack. For example, an additional Master Brick with Master Extension can be used to replace the USB connection with other wired interfaces or wireless interfaces.
The stepper motor can be powered by an external power supply or by the stack. If an external power supply is connected, the Brick will switch to it. The Silent Stepper Brick can be operated in different modes. In Stealth mode, the motor is completely silent; in Coolstep mode, energy is saved; and in Classic mode, the motor offers maximum torque. The Silent Stepper Brick can be configured to automatically switch between these modes depending on the motor speed.
