Product details

A solid-state relay (SSR) is exactly what it sounds like: an IC that acts like a mechanical relay. They enable the control of high-voltage AC loads from low-voltage DC control circuits. However, solid-state relays have several advantages over mechanical relays. One of these advantages is that they operate at a much lower voltage and with much less current than most mechanical relays. Additionally, because there are no moving contacts, solid-state relays can switch much faster and operate for a much longer time without wear.

This kit includes everything you need to use an SSR in your next high-voltage project. After soldering the through-hole kit, simply connect your AC load and control it with your microcontroller. This is a great kit to practice through-hole soldering and is really useful for controlling lights, water pumps, fans, or other intermittent high-voltage devices.

Note: These only work with AC loads. Great care, safety, and knowledge should be exercised when dealing with high current and high voltage.
