Coffee specialities from the SMEG 50's Retro portafilter machine become something very special. The look of the 50s really comes into its own with this machine. The three filter inserts allow you to decide whether you prefer a single espresso or a double espresso. Of course, you can also make coffee with the popular pods. With the descaling indicator, you always know when it's time to descale your portafilter machine. This is essential for unadulterated coffee enjoyment. If the machine is not used for a certain period of time, it switches off automatically. Coffee pods have been on the market for more than 10 years and have many satisfied fans. They consist of two layers of cellulose. A portion of approx. 7 g of coffee powder is embedded between them. Coffee pods made from filter paper can usually be completely composted. The only exceptions are the rather rare versions with a plastic chamber. To use coffee pods, you need a coffee pod machine designed for this purpose.
