Sigma lenses labeled "DC" are high-performance lenses specifically designed for digital cameras with image sensors up to APS-C format. When used on cameras with larger sensors, vignetting may occur. Photographers are advised to adjust the sensor format for optimal image results, as far as the camera allows. Sigma lenses labeled "DN" are designed to deliver outstanding performance on mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras with a short flange distance.

Das 430 Euro teure 1,4/56er der C-Baureihe ist für ein 1,4er fast schon günstig. Es überzeugt bei Blende 2,8 bei Blende 1,4 ist der Kontrast niedriger, und den Ecken fehlt es an Zeichnung, während die Ränder noch gut durchgezeichnet sind. Blende 5,6 senkt die Werte für die Bildmitte leicht, aber eliminiert auch fast den Randabfall - empfohlen.
