DIN 46277 CENELEC EN 50.022 DIN rail with hat profile TS 35 from RS Pro. A DIN rail is a metal strip with standard dimensions defined by the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) and later implemented as European (EN) and international (ISO) standards. They are made of cold-rolled, galvanized, and passivated steel, with a coating thickness of at least 8 micrometres. Available as standard or slotted rails and in various lengths, they offer a convenient and quick method for mounting any combination of electrical and electronic devices in application-related systems. DIN rails are compact and provide all the necessary functions. They are easy to mount, and extensive standardization processes have increased their popularity, especially for industrial controllers and system builders. All aspects of industrial equipment—terminals, signal conditioning, circuit breakers, relays, motor starters, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)—are available as components that can be easily plugged into the rail for configuration assembly. The galvanized cold-rolled steel construction is bright passivated and conforms to current BS, DIN, and CENELEC standards.
