DisplayPort is the new standard for digital audio and video transmission in the TV and multimedia sector, for example, for connecting a TFT monitor with a DVI interface to a graphics card with a DisplayPort connection. DisplayPort is signal-compatible with DVI.

Note: A DisplayPort-DVI cable can only be used in one direction: the DisplayPort connector can only be used on the data source side, such as on the graphics card.
