Currently, Media Broadcast is planning further expansion of the transmitter network for the next few years in collaboration with the radio broadcasters of the nationwide programs (Channel 5C). Regional public or private digital radio offerings are distributed through their own networks, which are unrelated to the reception situation of the nationwide broadcasters. Regional programs are tied to the federal states; for example, the programs of BR can only be heard in Bavaria. This is regulated by law. In border areas between federal states, it is naturally possible to receive programs from neighboring federal states. Digital radio in Switzerland: DAB+ (T-DAB) is in its final expansion phase and includes language-national as well as regional ensembles offered by SRG, SwissMediaCast, Romandie Médias SA, and Limus-Digris. DAB+ is finally available for all of Austria. With the digital radio standard DAB+ and nationwide radio offerings in Austria, a white spot on the European radio map in the DACH region is being filled.
