Nikon D7100 Kit

After 2 months with the D7100 in South America, my review is a little more critical as to why:
Tested with: Nikon 18-105 (kit), 35mm 1.8G and Nikon 70-300mm AF-S VR.
The camera is great. The image quality is really great and you have to thank Nikon that they were clever enough not to include an optical low-pass filter. With a good lens you get really sharp images (not the kit lens). The dynamic range is SENSATIONAL at ISO 100 and 200. You only benefit from the resolution with really good lenses, which is why I put it as a con, because most combinations just don't offer enough real resolution to justify the file size.
The autofocus is good and very good! It is nimble and focuses perfectly in most cases, even in relatively dark lighting conditions. Also, the area covered by the AF is really really big, which is great!
The thing is weatherproof!
Now for the part I don't like so much. You have a camera that is also marketed as an action camera and shoots in Raw 14Bit up to 5 fps in full resolution. NOTE: it can only shoot 7fps if you shoot in 15MP crop mode in JPEG. In addition, if you shoot Raw 14bit, after no less than 5 images, i.e. 1 second, the buffer is full and you have to wait until the card has been written to. So if you use burst mode, buy nothing but a Sandisk Ulra Extreme card with up to 95mb/s. For comparison, a D300 gets up to 18 raw 12bit in the buffer against 7 on the d7100, that's too big a difference.
In my opinion, in good light you can use up to ISO 3200 without hesitation, in bad light I wouldn't go above 2000.
Can fully recommend it for those who don't want to do wildlife/sport photography, the others really need to consider the buffer issue.

Extreme difference to my previous EOS, the Nikon is much better in quality. The only thing I miss is the direct cabling for viewing images directly on the TV.

TipTop quality from the house of NIKON
I used to have the D90, which was also very good.
The D7100 has a higher resolution (sensor and screen) and other useful features.
As a top DX camera, a clear buy recommendation.
I wouldn't want to do without the D7100.
Super features, top quality! The decisive factor for me in buying a D7100 was the compatibility with old manual Nikon lenses without CPU.
Super fast delivery
