Epson Expression Premium XP-7100

Cheap appearance, does not even recognize the original cartridges. Complete nonsense. Just about enough for private use. For home office underground

After both my HP Photosmart 7520s gave up the ghost almost at the same time after 10 years of good service (small things, have repair impossible) I switched to Epson XP-7100. I have two of them and am thrilled. Everything OK, best print quality, etc. Unique but for a printer of this price range, as far as I know, is the ability to scan double-sided printed pages in a single run. I was finally able to digitise old folders and dispose of them. The only downer is the price of the ink. And compared to the HP printer, this one doesn't have a fax, but who needs a fax nowadays?

First: Epson is a great brand with great products.
However, this "printer" is unsatisfactory for me and will be replaced by a Canon.
Toner is ALWAYS empty. Print 3x A4 photos, bang, peep up in the office: change toner. The 4 micro "cartridges" are always empty. If you only print 1-2 A4 pages once a month, you will be satisfied with the product. In addition, I find the print quality very modest, stripes and light printouts are standard with this model. When it does print and the toner is not constantly empty! I have tried 4 different types of photo paper and the print quality is always poor when it prints and does not beep.
In addition, I find the micro "cartridges" very expensive for the frequency of replacement.
The paper drawer can't be filled without fumbling, and on a smooth floor, the drawer has several places where it hacks.
It is also loud.
It looks nice, so if you want to print something 1-2 times a month, you will enjoy it, but if you want to use the printer more often, probably not.
I bought the printer in 2021 from a competitor (also belongs to Migros) for CHF 138.)
