Zyxel G.Fast XMG3927 with WLAN
1) In Network settings -> Broadband, click modify VDSL 2) Select "IPV4 only" mode, which will give you the option to enable 6RD. 3) Enable 6RD and manually configure it with the information given on the wingo FAQ ( https://www.wingo.ch/fr/puis-je-utiliser-mon-propre-routeur-pour-wingo-internet ) the IP address for 6rd.wingo.com is 178.238.168.250 (at least today, might change in the future) I hope this works for you. https://imgur.com/a/gMKjYlv
Unfortunately no. Standard values up to 1500 bytes and PPPoE up to 1492 bytes are supported.
I think this question should be asked directly on the Sunrise forum. Personally, I don't use their services, so I don't know their devices or their connections. What is important to know is the speed of your connection and the protocol used, which will already allow you to filter the modem models available on the market. I haven't found a list of compatible models like Swisscom keeps up to date either. So once you have all the information about your Internet connection, and as long as no-one else has tried it, it's up to you to try out modems until you find a compatible one. Some protocols can only work with their routers (e.g. 10Gbps). It may be possible to ask to change your box model, they should surely have an alternative available. Good luck to you!
Hello, If I've understood what you mean, I don't buy an APwifi router-modem for that. But only a router-APwifi or just an APwifi if your hotspot acts as a router.
According to our information it's the same product. The difference is that the other article is Swisscom tested.
Unfortunately, we have to admit that we have no practical experience with this specific product. We recommend that you post your question as a discussion, as experience has shown that more customers respond there than to a single question. This way you could get the information you need. https://www.digitec.ch/de/community
This device is not going to be an issue, it uses the standard in use by Swisscom which gives a maximum speed of up to 500Mbits in the line (depending on distance). Nothing to do with the performance in your LAN. This is a DSL router only not suitable for other services like FTTH. Hope this helps.
I have the thing running in the configuration (PPoE is terminated in a pfsense). WLAN can be switched off with a button on the router.
In Bridge Mode (with the Swiss "Bridge Firmware"), it does not matter which provider is used to access the Internet via DSL. What is important is the "correct" provider-specific configuration in the router that is connected to the bridge via the WAN. This works for me with Swisscom or Wingo.
It should work without any problems. For a guaranteed answer, however, it is best to contact the provider directly.
The variant without a designation (10957567) already has BridgeMode preconfigured. The variant "without WLAN" also supports BridgeMode.
Both are possible. You don't need an additional router, but you can use an additional one.
Yes, there is a wall bracket with it.
This is not possible. A WLAN bridge can only be set up with WLAN enabled.
The router cannot do IPSec VPN, in bridge mode I operate IPSec tunnels with ES payload behind it.
No, not at all. I rather had the opposite. The connection is much more stable than with the Wingo router.
Works fine for me with sunrise. You only have to solve the telephone problem differently, if required. I briefly connected a fritzbox and had it configured by sunrise and made a backup. Zyxel router connected and configured by sunrise. Fritzbox reset and after the router with config internet over lan1. Backup only for telephony.
Apparently, it should be compatible with a "WX3401 Wireless Extender", which are obviously designed for "administration by ISPs", but you can certainly administer them yourself. I only use the router as a VDSL bridge, but I still took the WLAN version, so maybe I'll be happy.
There are three variants of the XMG3927, two of which have WLAN permanently deactivated. This should be the "Bridge mode without Wi-Fi" variant. However, it would be advantageous if this circumstance were better documented in the product description, which is not really evident here (it didn't bother me, I don't do WLAN on the DSL end device). According to Zyxel (I contacted support about this some time ago), there is no firmware update because there are no necessary improvements (the bug I reported was obviously not important enough for a firmware update).
Why do you want to access the Zyxel? If the Zyxel is in bridge mode, the router should take over all other functions. This is what the bridge mode is usually intended for. The modem does not "sit" after the router, but in front of it. Modem->Router->Switch
Have you already looked at the instructions from Zyxel? That's how I did it, without any problems. https://support.zyxel.eu/hc/de/articles/360001482220-Einstellen-des-VMG-als-Modem-Bridge-Modus
