Hello everyone and good day. I need some help. I have an older WD hard drive, namely the WD My Book P/N: WDBAAK0010HCH-00 - S/N: WCATR0233803. Unfortunately, I have lost the USB cable. My question is: What kind of USB cable do I need? Thank you very much in advance.

Does the recording on this WD hard disk only work when the TV is switched on, or can it also record when the TV is switched off (stand-by)? (Recording is programmed on the TV) [my TV: Samsung QLED) Thank you.

Hii :D Samsung says it should work, you can find more information here: https://www.samsung.com/de/support/tv-audio-video/samsung-qled-tv-2018-aufnahme-von-fernsehsendungen/ However, before buying, I would check with the exact type of TV to see if it supports it. The hard drive would have to be connected to an external power source when the TV is switched off completely, not via the USB charging port on the TV.

Can this part also be used as a normal USB hard drive under Windows 10 (e.g. as an audio CD library for streamers)? How is it formatted?

I don't know exactly what Windows 10 is. The drive has a single NTFS partition. I only have it for my QLED TV because it is whisper quiet.

Can films also be loaded onto it and then played on the TV? Because I wanted to connect an 8Tb to my Samsung 8K, but it was not recognised. Now I'm looking for an alternative that works.

Since I only use this hard drive with the TV, I cannot give any information about its function with a PC or WLAN router. The hard disk must always be formatted with the connected device.
