Since I only use this hard drive with the TV, I cannot give any information about its function with a PC or WLAN router. The hard disk must always be formatted with the connected device.
I connected the hard disk directly to the USB3 of the TV (Samsung) - no problems. I also connected the hard drive to the Airport extreme (WLAN with internal hard drive) and there was no problem there either. I don't have a PC (only Apple), but I don't think there should be a problem with the hard drive.
