Dispalay port can also be daisy-chained... 2 monitors with one connection. PC->Monitor->Monitor.... If the monitors are not too old.

The cable with DisplayPort connector to HDMI (type A) is designed to transmit a signal from a DisplayPort source to an HDMI input. In your case, you want to connect the screen (without HDMI output, but with DisplayPort) to the Nintendo Switch (which only has HDMI output). This does not work as the cable only transmits signals from DisplayPort (source) to HDMI (receiver), not the other way round. The switch sends out an HDMI signal that a DisplayPort input on the monitor cannot process directly. An active HDMI to DisplayPort converter would be required to connect the HDMI output (switch) to the DisplayPort input (screen), not a simple cable. In short: The cable is not suitable for connecting the switch to a monitor with DisplayPort input only.

This is a digital cable connection, there are no electronics in the cables. The signals go in both directions, i.e. the HDMI end can of course also be connected in the notebook or monitor.

The cable here is displayport 1.1. For 4k120Hz you need at least displayport 1.4. What kind of monitor is it? Be careful because if you have a monitor, it has to be able to receive the signal the PS5 puts out, otherwise you'll be limited to 1080p anyway. So if your monitor is 2560x1440, you will be limited to 1080p anyway if the monitor itself can't downscale UHD > 1440p (because the PS only gives full resolution and not in the meantime, like a PC).

What is the brand/model of your docking station (preferably link to Digitec shop) ? Then you can find the specifications from the manufacturer.

Normally this works because the DP port can also provide an HDMI signal, so a passive cable like this is sufficient. If it doesn't work, it's the docking station.

If it should not work with the docking station, it might work if you use an active cable. Here the signal is actively converted from DP to HDMI. Delock DisplayPort - HDMI (Type A) (2 m, HDMI) https://www.delock.de/produkte... Most of the time it works without problems. But I would still check whether you can use both video ports of the docking station at the same time. And if it is, whether the DP port is DP++ capable (often it is not explicitly stated in the manual). DP++ means it can also output an HDMI signal when a passive adapter is connected.

if the one screen has an output signal with the corresponding connection type - The cable is a connection cable. so it only really matters which source you use. Connecting two screens together that have no picture/signal and no corresponding out signal makes no sense.

Good day This cable did not work with my MiniMac and Samsung monitor. I returned it to them several weeks ago. I have not yet received a reply from them. I don't think that's so great. With kind regards V. Nreca
