Not on the console, but I am almost certain that this would be too slow. I noticed that this adapter is not designed for high data rates. Per USB 3 with approx. 10MB/s, that's all I achieved. Because of the integrated USB power supply, it probably only runs on USB 2. The adapters with a separate power supply are better.

Helpful answer

A connected hard disk (preferably an SSD or a 2.5" HDD) is supplied with power via the USB port, as these are relatively energy-saving (smartphones, etc. can also be charged via USB ports of the PC/laptop).

Try using the connection cable of the following ICY Box: https://www.brack.ch/icy-box-externes-gehaeuse-ib-ac705-6g-2-5-3-5-815070?query=ICY+Box&redirected=1 available at Brack for CHF 26.50 - Regards Felix Speiser

So... a data migration on the part of MacOS is generally always possible! Much more important is what you connect... since you only have a USB 3 port, SSDs are usually uncomplicated since they don't need any additional power... If you have older hard drives, use an adapter with an external power supply.
