Such a remote control is no longer up to date and is useless if you are not standing in front of the camera. As far as I know, the IR receiver was dropped from the 7IV anyway. I would buy a Bluetooth remote control for it.

This remote control is not suitable for this. I would recommend a Bluetooth remote control, a cable release or triggering via the smartphone app (Sony Imaging Edge Mobile).

Yes, it works with the Sony A 7 III, programme mode M, turn shutter speed to Bulb, 1* press shutter on remote control -> recording starts, press shutter again on remote control -> recording is completed.
No. I have just tried it out. In continuous shooting, it only ever took one picture for me. What does work with my a6500 is continuous shooting with HDR bracketing. What also works is the automatic recording of 3 continuous pictures.
So every setting worked for me, where the camera stops automatically after a certain number of pictures. That's all I could find out in a hurry. I hope it helped anyway.

Hello, I have the remote control in combination with the alpha77 so I can press the "shutter" button in BULB mode to start and again to stop. So it works.
