Does anyone have any experience of triggering with the remote control of a Sony A7iii when standing behind the camera? My question stems from the fact that the infrared sensor is attached to the front of the camera and therefore the maximum shutter release distance is very shortened when standing behind the camera. Thank you for reports from indoor and outdoor practice.

This remote control is not suitable for this. I would recommend a Bluetooth remote control, a cable release or triggering via the smartphone app (Sony Imaging Edge Mobile).
