In the specifications at Digitec, you will find the information "May be equipped with a power adapter : Yes".
It can be removed from the heating station; the power cable is attached to the heating station.
The interior is made of steel, but there are individual plastic elements (e.g. at the holder or the spout) that can come into contact with the water. According to the manufacturer, these elements are BPA-free.
Unfortunately, no BPA-free plastic is used in the Smeg kettle. :(
